Description: Cardiometabolic risk factors are good indicators of a patient's overall risk for developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Dr. Buse shared how interactions between these factors significantly increase risk, as well as some approaches a physician can take to reduce risk for future disease and complications.
Presenter: John Buse, MD, PhD is the Verne S. Caviness Distinguished Professor, Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Director of the Diabetes Care Center and Executive Associate Dean for Clinical Research at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. He received his MD and PhD from Duke University before training in internal medicine and endocrinology at the University of Chicago.
